...this is an image take out here in Oregon, These are dunes created when people tried to control the beach erosion by planting grasses to catch the sand and hold it. I saw these dune back some years ago, and we drove by them again a day or so ago doing our Summer work. These were take from "street view" of Google Maps.
This next image is a satellite view of the same area of dunes. The dunes go further down the coast.
