Delayed? Seriously? Even with a UPIN? What gives?

Called my favorite dealer today to get a fix... SSP had a brand new Springfield XDs in stock. OMGWTFBBQ! Hold it for me, I'll be right there!

Filled out my 4473 like a hundred times before, and for the first time in years, I got delayed. Even though I put my UPIN on the paperwork. I'm a good guy, I promise! Tell Tommy to let me have my new toy!

Grrr... well, at least I know that I own a XDs, at worst case I can pick it up next week.. Now if I could just find some .45cal....

Don't feel too bad, it happened to me two weeks ago, twice. Never had a problem before then, even when buying a new 870 Express about a month before. Guess I have to get myself a UPIN now.

What is there? 5,000,000 background checks (registrations) per month now? The FBI is just overwhelmed, is all. Good thing it's a local dealer. I hear Academy and WalMart wait the full 30 days, in he event of a delay.

My FFL just got in an order of lowers. Out of the 10 4473's that were called in, I was delayed. Everybody else went through. I get it Tuesday, so no biggie. I've been getting delayed for over 25 years. Nothing new here.
