Delayed? Seriously? Even with a UPIN? What gives?

Did you hear him personally give the NICs operator your UPIN?

Many times I tell them I have one, put it on the form and they still forget to tell them I have it.

Call NICs customer service. I have only been delayed one time with my UPIN. I called them immediately to ask them WTF?

They had a massive glitch right when Keelty called it in. She said to have him call back now.

He did and got a proceed.

Call them.

You're on "The list" now.

Just wait until you ever leave the country and try to clear customs on your return. You'll walk funny for days and your obamma's never gonna be the same....

I work at a gun store up in St Louis right now and we probably do 20 background check a day most time the lazy people up at NICS don't listen when you mention UPIN because it makes them have to follow a different chart for the background check. Right now I probably see 30 to 40 percent delayed right now. Also a further review generally leaves me on hold for 45 minutes. It's all because there system is back logged and a few weeks ago they had a major system crash. Good news all of our delays are taking about 2 to 24 hours to be resolved.

This store uses the online option. They ran it once and didn't notice the UPIN, then ran it again with the UPIN. I'm hoping that didn't mess me up, but I usually get "proceed" without the UPIN anyway.

The customer service line gives me this..."Due to high call volumes, the FBI is not currently accepting customer service related calls"

Guess I'm just gonna have to wait until Thursday. :scream:

[QUOTE)

Filled out my 4473 like a hundred times before, and for the first time in years, I got delayed. Even though I put my UPIN on the paperwork. I'm a good guy,I promise...[/QUOTE]

I had the same experience today at Henry's in Yukon. It's all computerized now and Johnny tried to call only to learn they are not accepting phone calls at this time. It seems really fishy to me I smell a rat. I've bought several guns in there recently all with no trouble. I'm half pissed and embarrassed all at the same time. If the FBI isn't taking weekend calls it sure sounds like an attempt to drive the GUNSHOW business out of well....... Business rant off.

There is a reason that I hate the NICS. It's one more erosion of rights. I get delayed every time, and it really burns my rear. If your buying local, then you could agrue no big deal just go back in three days. What about those of us who are at a gun show, and we miss a unique gun? What about being on vacation in another state? You can't always just run back quick and easy.
