This is from August of last year.

Are you telling me you can see no reason why the TSA would require the components of bombs to conduct training for it's hundreds of canine teams employed across this huge country? Of for testing the efficacy of explosives detection and/or residue testing TTPs?

Nah, none of those are logical reasons. I'm sure the TSA wants to blow up airplanes and sprinkle a little of this stuff in Reddog's shop in order to frame him and in order to do that, they put an official requisition in and left it out there for the public to see. That's the logial explanation....

The TSA's Transportation Security Lab is located at the delivery address. Part of their mission, which took me less than 5 minutes to find:

The core mission is to enhance homeland security by performing research, development and validation of solutions to detect and mitigate the threat of improvised explosive devices. The TSL also does certification testing for Explosive Detection Systems. The specially designed facilities at TSL are used to perform research on explosives characteristics and chemistry, suicide detection imaging technology, communications, and human factors performance evaluations.

Yeah, I can see no reason why they'd need any RDX or Ammonium Nitrate, both common components of IEDs. They should be able to substitute some peanut butter or something. :rolleyes2

Well, in fairness, if they did, they'd have fewer instructors nicknamed "Stumpy." :D

Yep, it's all for training. The TSA certified K9 teams are in several hundred airports. All the training explosives are disbursed from Atlantic City, where the FAMS training center is located.

I could tell you where our local stash is, but then I'd hafta kill ya! :D
