...or more?

I've always wanted a 4" 686 and would really like to have the 681, 586, and 581 to go with it. As a bonus the nickel 586 would be nice to have also.

So does anyone here have them all?

I was always partial to the N-Frames and K-Frames; I never really got into the L-Frames. I had a friend who carried a 6" (IIRC) 686 as an armed security guard, which was about as close as I ever got to one.

Ibetcha @SPDguns does. He had a fantastic S&W display.
I've had them all at one time or another. I'm down to a 686 and a 681...

I always wanted one. Never found one and having $$$, at the same time.
The only S&W I had, was a M60.

M60 was stolen

Finally, bought a Highway Patrolman (pre-M28). It suits me, just fine.

Only other S&W I desire is a M57/M58.
Would love a M657 no lock or K/L frame .327Fed, but I'm not optimistic. Kind of like finding a purple unicorn.

You don't see 681's or 581's in the wild very often anymore. The 686/586 series is probably my favorite of all S&W lines. I've sold off most of the blued guns in my collection over the years and have held on to the stainless because they require less maintenance. My first nickel Smith was a 4" 586. I gave it to my Dad for his 50th birthday. That was 25 years ago this month.

The problem acquiring a new interest for me is often leaping before I know better. I bought a 686 before understanding the “lock” thing. So I’ve got a nice 586 and a 686 (lock). And a few others including a 28-2. I’m gonna cool my heels for a while:-)
Oh yeah...I won't have the lock version. That's a BIG black mark against S&W as far as I'm concerned.

I'm usually only interested in the older pinned barrel, recessed cylinder versions of S&W s, but I sure like some of those L frames.
