Does Bass Pro Shops just suck now????

Me and the wife decided to take a trip to BP to pick up some stocking stuffers. It has been a while since the last time we did this. I browsed the fishing section and picked out a couple swimbaits that were larger than the last bass i caught. 20 bucks each. I think they are made to catch fishermen, not fish lol. But my despair came in the hunting section. I thought I would pick up some 209 primers while I was there. NOPE! they didn't have any, oh well, I have more on my list. I've been wanting a Buck 110 auto for a while. I went to the knife case to see if they had one, NOPE! They didn't even have a Buck 110 original. WTF? What kind of sporting goods store does not carry a Buck 110?! Oh well, I'll just get the shotgun magazine cap I need and move on. NOPE! AINT GOT ONE OF THEM EITHER!!! Wasted freakin trip!. At least the wife bought some stuff..... I remember what it was like before BP, Wal-Mart and Academy was good enough. I know 20 yrs ago either one of those stores would have had all 3 of those items I was lookin for. Dont. Know if i will ever go back to BP. Just sayin.....

It is ten days before Christmas, I am sure everything is gone through by now and inventories are low.

Only decent Bass pro shop is in Springfield, and that is for the displays only. The gun library is cool in springfield also. Bass pro is pretty much a trinket shop now a day.
As for local Bass pro shop like OKC , it has lacked since it opened way back. I no longer waste my time in a Cabelos or a Bass pro. There counter help in the gun section is well I would have to say a bunch of bad stuff so I will refrain.
If you want a trip to branson they have that going for them.

I’ve been to the OKC Bass Pro a few times over the last few years of driving back and forth but don’t think I’ve found what I went in for.

I don’t know about BP, but you can search Scheels inventory to see if they have what you’re looking for before wasting time driving to find out they don’t.

Academy on South Walker has Buck 110s. I seen them today, my wife just had to go there today. We usually don’t do any City on a weekend day. I walked in and headed straight to the Guns and ****, made a quick pass by and out to the truck with my Dog. He calms me down and we sit and chill, wife shops.

I do stop in Cabelas occasionally. For boat parts, camp gear, or reloading stuff. I’ve also bought a couple nice guns there for great prices. But almost never go to the bass pro. I simply don’t care for the location lol

Order the buck stuff directly from buck on their website. That’s what I’ve done on my last couple buck purchases.

But yeah, for the most part you’re right… not much reason to go into the big chain stores, unless they’ve got something specific

I rarely get on the side of OKC where BP is located. Same with Tulsa.
In OKC, go to Cabellas to look around mostly, but did pick up a F&N 502 last time I was in there, and some Vortex binoculars. I know I could have got the glass cheaper elsewhere, but I like having a half dozen on the counter in front of me to make the selection of which I want.
