Understand that if you have a loss, that doesn't mean your rates will automatically go up. However, if there is generally bad loss experience for a given insurance carrier, the next time they file for a rate increase, you, and all their insureds in that jurisdiction, will get a rate increase.

Yeah, that's what I figured. My loss figured into the other related losses in that jurisdiction and all of them together determined whether there is a loss for all affected.
