My folks are flying in from NC in a couple months and I thought it would be nice to do some shooting while they're here. Dad has a .38 and a 9mm and has a hard time finding anywhere to shoot that isn't an arm and a leg.
Any thoughts on what would be the best way to get his pistols out here to OK with the least amount of hassle? He's 80 yrs old, so any possible BS at the airport will put a damper on him being willing to put them in his luggage and check the bag, although that may be the best/only route. He hates flying as it is so any additional crap and he'd just as soon leave them behind.
Thanks.

From the TSA website--
Travelers may only transport UNLOADED firearms in a locked, hard-sided container in or as checked baggage. All firearms, ammunition and firearm parts, including firearm frames and receivers, are prohibited in carry-on baggage.

Other than that just a matter of going to one of the ranges here $10 at H&H or $15 at Gunworld and Heartland (I believe).
