If you guys (and gals) are looking for something a bit different I found both

9th Company: A Russian movie about company of Russian soldiers in Afghanistan

and

Tae Guk Gi: A Korean movie about two brothers that are conscripted during the Korean War.

to be really enjoyable and different.

Das Boot, Stalingrad, Lost Battalion, Rough Riders, Pacific, Band of Brothers, All Quiet on the Western Front, We were Soldiers(The book was 100% better), Gallipoli, U-571, K-19 The Widowmaker, Crimson Tide, Killer Angels AKA Gettysburg. I could go on an on!!!

I had forgotten Das Boot, darn good, and We were soldiers, the book is always better, but it is one of two movies I recall following the book closely. The other one is Bridges of Toko Ri, I think, William Holden and Micky Rooney.

I must see Red Tails, now, Thank you so very much! If you ever, ever been inside a B17 or even flown in one you know these guys and the escorting fighter pilots were so very, very dedicated. Again, thanks.

Has no one mentioned "The Dirty Dozen?" You know...Lee Marvin, Telly Savalas, Charles Bronson?

Red Dawn sure is good.

As far as being firearm-related, does "A Christmas Story" count?
