It started be a lightning strike about 200 yards away from me, and it spread fast. Looked and felt like the devil opened the doors to Hell. No homes were lost in the immediate area around me, but it burned several thousand acres to the southeast.

It's tough seeing those hay bales burning. Obviously it is better than someone's home but given the lack of rainfall this summer, hay is going to be a very precious commodity over the winter with little to spare.
A lot of hay was lost last night. A buddy that cuts mine had just finished bailing around 100 round bales that were all lost last night. I’ve got a pasture that he bailed about a week ago. It’s about 60% Johnson grass and 40% prairie grass. He keeps the Johnson grass, and he’s already sold it for $75/ bale to be picked up in the field.
