Congrats on the boat. I’m jelly
Thanks!! I don’t know if the boat market is especially good right now or what, but I feel like I got a steal on this boat. Paid less for the boat, low hour 2015 mercury 9.9, older trolling motor, older finders, new battery and Bimini top with all the other extras as I would have for a new mercury 9.9.

I understand everyone’s finances are different and such, but I always thought boats were way less affordable. I sold a few guns to buy a really nice rifle, found this boat instead. I’m really happy about it, dreamed of owning a fishing boat for as long as I can remember.

Its nuts to see that many good sized crappie from one trip. 95% of the crappie at Thunderbird are the size of your hand. Supposedly the saugeye were introduced to fix that, but I don't think it's worked.

It takes years for the saugeye to get the crappie population under control. It does work though.
Our local lake was so overpopulated with crappie that an 8” was considered a trophy.
ODW introduced saugeye probably 15 years ago.
We are getting some 14” crappie now with the average size increasing.

I'm pretty sure they've been stocking Thunderbird with Saugeye since 1985 lol.
