I'm fortunate in that the owner of my favorite pawn shop can find stuff,,,
He found my Model 15, 18, and 34.

David Austin of Best Pawn & Gun in Stillwater, OK.

I just tell him what I am looking for,,,
Give him a price range for it,,,
And he locates it for me.

I call him the Evil Pawn Shop Guy,,,
Because he's so danged good at taking my money.

He knows I have a fondness for K-Frame S7W's,,,
I walked into the shop one day and headed for the pistol case,,,
He said "Don't waste your steps, I have what you are looking for right here."

I said "Sure you do, what are you hiding back the,,, Ooooh!",,,
He held up a beautiful 4" Model 12, .38 Special.

Dang his eyes for doing that to me,,,
Cost me $400.00 that day.

He's evil I tell you,,,
Evil I say!

We're kind of wandering off topic here, but you're really speaking my language! Your model 12 looks like a super nice one! Here's my own 12-2. Turns out it was originally used by the New Zealand police dept, and was made the same year I was born. One of my favorite boomsticks. :)

Stingray, Very nice 12!!! As to getting a model 17, look on GunBroker for them and pay close attention to, and for the 17-3. It was the most produced of any of the 17 series post-war guns.

Yes they are. When I got the gun it had a set of ill-fitting Pachmayers, made for a standard width k-frame on it. I was unable to source a set of model 12 grips, so I chose a set of pre-war hard rubber grips because they fit the gun and I thought they looked good on it.
