I have Farm Bureau for my home, Shelter for my vehicles. I have filed three claims through Farm Bureau, never an issue, or a rate increase. I have never had to file an auto claim.

Your lucky, mine doubled with no claims. I requested the report from the letter they sent, had my mom and brothers claims on there, one on my moms house, and my bro's two car accidents, neither claim through farm burea, nor same address. Also said changes in my credit. My agent said they rates were across the board, no reason to dispute, went from 900 to 1500. I also have several friends dropped by Farm Bureau after all the Cat claims went through. My understanding is some of their higher value policies were the ones dropped as their cash holdings are hurting, they arent wanting to pay on them if they make a claim. Once everything is done on my claim, I am looking elsewhere. They butchered my claim, left stuff off, etc, when I called they acted like they didnt care. Things like removal of gutters, but not replacement. Travelers on my car, gave me WAY above what I expected, and did it ASAP. Was done with my car before Farm Burea even had an adjuster assigned.

Let me get this right. People are telling you to get an attorney to sue a giant insurance company so they will insure you?

No you do not have it straight. Peopel are telling him to get an attorney to sue a giant insurance company (if possible, for bad faith), so that they will have to pay through the nose a bunch of money to put in his pocket, which is win-win - it makes him happy (and able to pay premiums to a different insurance company), and makes the rest of society also happy, because they will think twice next time before doing something really stupid, incorrect, and unfairly bigoted against people with dogs. Everybody wins (except the insurance company, but they don't count).

That's not germane to my complaint.

Don't miss my point because you happen to agree with one of our resident rabble-rousers. Or are you rousing the rabble yourself? ;)

I had Farm Bureau for 10yrs my house got robbed and they dropped me. My agent made accusations of it being a fraudulent claim. FB was severly downrated by AIG and just about isnt worth the paper that their policies are written on. One more major disaster in our nation and they may very well be non existant. I have filed a couple of auto claims with them and they hammered me on my premiums. I had 2 houses 5 vehicles and a life policy with them at the same time . They canceled my homeowners w/o even flinching. My agent was about as ins. ignorant as a 2 yr child . I had to call one of my other agents that didnt even carry my homeowners and vehicle policies to get an accurate answer to my questions in a reasonable amount of time. I even provided copies of these policies for him so that he could actually help me when I needed help.I am so glad to be rid of them.

Update:

Well I called my vet to the house few days ago since my dogs were up for they 3 year shots in December. I decided to do them early just in case this a hole company decides to throw something else at me. Got their shots and the vet gave me a letter stating the dogs breed. Sent it in and called them today. Guess what, the letter is not good enough because it doesn't state the dominant breed. Well since my dogs never attacked anyone or any thing and I feel that this is a cheap shot at trying to drop my insurance because of the CAT claim, I decided to hire and attorney and also call Scott Haines. After I prove them wrong, I will drop them like a bad habit.
