i was in NM this past week and stopped in at the local gun shop. They had 50+ Ar's on the shelf along with several other "assault" rifles. Non seemed to be out of normal price range to me.

Pmags on the other hand.................. were hiked a little but they had gobs of them in stock and were selling them like hotcakes.

I would have had to take out some loans to buy what they had. You could have made all of your money back and got a new truck from selling 50 ARs.

I heard that Sig went from 70K orders a week to 70K per day right after the CT shooting. Most orders are from U.S dealers. I have a AR on order, but have no idea when I'll get it and neither do they.

It was Butler county PA, I didnt want to post it because I was out fo town and didnt want to alert anyone to an empty house should someone be able to figure out where I live but I was there and saw all this with my own eyes.

It wasn't just .223 though, it was 9mm too. The .223 was the black box American Eagle stuff. They had FULL shelves of it. Thousands of rounds.

An enterprising individual might consider driving out there and buying as much as they could and then selling it here.

Just a thought.

I was in SW Michigan a few weeks ago and although there were more customers in the local gun stores, there were still magazines and ammo available at reasonable prices.
