Or any training facility, but that is not why I feel the way I do. I have seen bullets put in mags backwards, the entire line being muzzled, limpwristing with a two hand gripping the gun, people not knowing their gun has a safety, on a five shot string at five yards with only three shots on paper, just to mention a few. Of course we correct these things on the line. I am all for the 2nd amendment, so dont think Im not. My self and many others, including many from outside USSA, feel that carrying a gun in public or anywhere, is a right given to us by the constitution, but having such a right requires a resposibility to do so in a safe and educated manner. The sda classes do a good job in the classroom going over laws, situations and carry gear, but just dont allow enough trigger time.

I was just teasing. I support training and I enjoy the academies monthly phone calls.

Then a lot of you are wrong. the Constitution doesn't give that right, it guarantees that right, a right that pre-existed the Constitution.

To ownwmed, the right to 'keep and bear arms' is not the same as driving a car. Gun ownership and bearing is guaranteed by the COTUS, driving a car is not. My right to 'keep and bear' shall not be infringed. Look up the word 'infringed' and you will see that requiring a license to 'keep and bear arms' is an illegal and unconstitutional law.

I completely agree 100%. I'm not arguing the wording of the constitution at all...period. So the current CC laws are unconstitutional?

Yes! Do you read it differently?

Not at all. I completely agree with you. I was just trying to make the point earlier tonight that it's ridiculous that they are unconstitutional, but the laws are the laws right now and we're going in the right direction in order to fix it.

I should have had this discussion with you earlier! LOL...

Who else caught the local news coverage regarding open carry tonight? Channel 9 and channel 4 are obviously trying to sway public opinion away from open carry. Both channels made reference to a return to the wild west, iirc. Anyone catch the coverage on channel 5?

Every one who is against open carry says " Im for the 2nd Amendment and all....", but then they follow up with "..., but open carry could make you a target..."

Well, I disagree. I have been to open carry states such as Nevada, people dont react to you at all when you open carry, I know this for a fact because I did it. Granted I wasn't in a dangerous situation, other than shopping out in public during Christmas week. My point is simple we COULD become a target of a bad guy when open carrying, but we also COULD become cancer victims, we COULD die in a car crash, we COULD deter a crime before it happens just by showing there is force.

A little more trigger time in training wouldn't be bad idea. I like Texas and Nevada Law that requires shooting with both hands, one handed with your strong hand, and weak handed with one hand.

I hope Open Carry does become law, and once blood doesnt run in the street, maybe we gun owners will quit saying some of the dumbest things.
