Legally, no. I was wondering if it would cause more places to throw up the signs.

Probably not,I think this whole OC thing is not going to produce large numbers of people carrying openly.Good guys (read people who have a conceal carry licenses) are not going to want to attract unwelcome stares.I'm going to start my own poll by asking places that I frequent as well as non-gun people I know if they would be bothered by OC.I will report back. :preocc: This is my concern as well. I believe this is likely to happen. Because the law only gives you the right to open carry if you have a concealed carry permit, and because a private land owner has the right to prohibit you from carrying, I think there is a good chance that many businesses, upon seeing guns openly carried in their stores, will opt to ban all weapons on their premises. I could easily see a Walmart doing this. And I don't know about you, but I'm not stopping going to Walmart!

Maybe a little off-topic, but Walmart will not do this, and if they do, simply write a letter/call their corporate office. Their corporate policy on this is to permit whatever the state law permits. I have OC'd in Walmart in several states that permit it with no problems (MO, VA, TN, NH).

Jim Halligan will soon be getting a mean letter from yours truly. I smelled "statist" on him from when I first heard him speak at a Payne County Republican meeting. Its starting to look like my suspicions are well founded. I'll definitely be campaigning against him when he's up for re-election.

It really isn't much of a surprise that he is a little left of us here. Quite simply, it makes sense politically. In that district a hard line conservative has no chance of winning unless the Democrat is just off the rails. The make-up of the district just doesn't allow it.

The real surprise in my mind was the district to the north east of Dr. Jim's. Sweeden is a Democrat and is known to be on the left of Oklahoma's politics (which is still center to center-right in most places). But I really thought he had future political hopes, and voting no on this- particularly in a district like his, means trouble in future elections.

One question: Why are you still shopping at Big-Box-Mart?

I think it will. If there are many people like me they will, as 'in plain sight' is a sign that says 'don't mess with me.'

Legally, no. I was wondering if it would cause more places to throw up the signs.

Only if they are owned or managed by Sheeple...

My take on it, if people are so influenced by the Libs, then they will be afraid. Simple fact: People think that guns kill people. Actual fact: People are afraid of power. The fact is that this, in their minds, empowers us. We magically would now have the power of life and death, in their minds. Its like when any big movement becomes armed. People become afraid. Personally, I'm like most of you. I see it as a means to defense. But most DO NOT see it as such. Even though I fight without rest to regain freedoms, the truth is that we are fighting a uphill battle. And one, that honestly, is probably a loosing one...
