I just received a call-back from David Derby. He spoke with Col Duncan and the overturn vote is scheduled for tomorrow morning!

Anyone in particular we need to call? I've e-mailed and called a few (Hoolligan, Lameones, & Dan Slugivan)...but no response from them. If I need to light up some phones, let me know.

I called Don Armes' office, my representative and member of the House Leadership. He supports HB 3354. I asked that he help push this to a vote and for him to tell me who, if anyone, in the leadership is holding this up. The staffer told me she would contact me when she finds out and give me the information I requested.

I suggest everyone else make similar calls and engage in similar discussion with the staff about this so they realize how important this is to many of us. Also request information so they cannot hide what is going on.

I can only take David at his word; and he and Col Duncan can only take the work of their leadership. We should know by noon tomorrow. Remember, it's Duncan's bill, but Derby's text on open carry. They are all-in. I think house leadership needs to be poked as much as possible on this.

Here is a copy of the letter that I just sent to Rep. Samson Buck regarding HB3354. To date he has consistantly voted against any 2A bills and now excuses himself from voting on the veto, so I thought I might just remind him of why he is sitting in that big cozy chair to begin with.:smash:

I see that you voted against HB3354 initially and now keep excusing yourself from voting to override Gov. Henry's veto. I am very disappointed in your representation of a voter that helped put you in office and I promise you that if you do not get on board with the majority of voters that wanted open carry in OK that I will NOT vote for you again and will actively campaign for whoever runs against you in the next election. This is the third time that I have sent you emails and ALL of them have been totally ignored by you. Don't you honestly think that a voter who helped put you in office deserves a little more consideration than that?

Tad Jones from Claremore is the House Majority Floor Leader. If he's not responsible for the delay, he's a key player.

I'm going to email him today.

From my research, it looks like Tad Jones voted Yes to approve HB3354..and I am hoping he still retains that position to help us push it thru. I just left him a voice mail, he (Tad Jones) represents Claremore; his number is (918)342-5890

Yes, keep the phone calls going!

I just sent Dank an e-mail promising financial support to his next opponent if he does not APPEAR and vote to override. He, of course, was a no vote. :smack:
