There's another to add to my NEVER buy from again list. Free market and they can do as they please, but I don't have to continue to support them. I have always felt it necessary to support local businesses even though they are priced higher, but I guess they view it as a one way street.

That's the beauty of the free market system. They price gouge, consumers boycott, they see decreased revenue and have to lower prices. Now if we could just get all the consumers on the same page...

You guys ... They are not the only shop in town marking up prices. This is how it works ... Small business owners HAVE to sell their inventory for enough money to be able to replace their stock. You think wholesale prices aren't going up right now? I'm not saying that it's fair. I'm not even sure I think that it is right because some of the prices are ... well ... just OUT there ...

But if you are gonna stop frequenting local small business owners because they are marking up inventory they have on the shelves then you might as well just start doing all your business with the big boys online -- who, as you have noticed, are doing the exact same thing, only they don't have a storefront to keep open ...

Oh ... well ... that kinda defeats the purpose of having a small business owner doing things like letting folks have matches after hours, or having a gunsmith on sight that is willing to do small things here and there for regular customers for nothing but a handshake or any number of other perks that come from having brick and mortar stores here in town ...

OK ... Now, back to your regularly scheduled program ...

I can understand a 20 30 or 40 % markup to enable to restock. I don't see the the wholesales handing down a 400% markup. Not going to happen. That's like gas 12 to 15 dollar gas in the event of a disaster.

There are plenty of small local businesses that haven't raised the prices by 300%-400% and those are the ones that can have my business later. I'm not even buying stuff right now, but I am watching to see who those businesses are that act in good faith. Also, they are not allowing the after hours use of their facilities w/o compensation.

I could not believe when they said they had them for $49.00 per 30rd mag. He said the price was high because they are hard to find! Also said gunworld has them as well.
Needless to say I put the rest of my items back and left.

I got 10 pmags from them on Wednesday for 17bux a piece...I "almost" bought all they had but did not want to spend the money...They also had the Surefire 60rd mags in stock for 130.00 which is standard retail for those...I am surprised to see they raised the price if they had not already raised them by the time I got in there???? I saw some oft he Surefire mags selling for 300.00 online last week. Must have just been a delayed reaction for them to raise them up...I think 19.99 would be fair but damn, 50 bux!

That's their problem. If they are trying to pay their rent off of ONE person then they are running a horrible business model. Speaking from what I have noticed here, there are several online places which are NOT "gouging" along with several local places which are NOT "gouging either. I can say that Soonerguns, 2A, and Sportsworld here have kept their prices reasonable from what I've seen this week. They will always have my business, along with certain online vendors.

No skin off my teeth. I've only been in there once in my life. Probably go by again next time I'm in Edmond and have the time. I tend to just buy when and where I find a good deal, no matter who or where it is.

I remember the days when I swore I'd chew glass before I'd spend another dime at H&H ... That whole "I'll cut off my nose to spite my face" kinda thing goes out the window when you find Bladetech holsters that are normally $30 bucks mismarked for $15, I think it was.

Now, I shop everywhere ... I don't like the prices, I don't buy. It's that simple.

ETA: BTW, I kinda figured I'd get toasted a bit when I posted ... ;) (You'll notice that even my darling husband disagrees with me on this one ... :rolleyes2)
