What the hell, nice wild ass guessing.

I don't even work at a gun store period. I'm loyal to the one where I can get the products the cheapest or with service that deserves the higher price. I've bought them at H&H, Outdoor America, Big Boys, Cold Hand, and small FFLs the last few times.

Heartland had a nice range, but their prices were too high on most of their stuff not just guns. The fact they closed the doors for not being profitable should kinda tell you something, but then again you are a guesser not a thinker. :wink2:

Don't get burnt up. Did I say HO wasn't pricey? I was stating facts on prices. Can you buy a NIB glock cheaper than $599, sure. I know I can buy one cheaper than $700+, that's for damn sure.

This may already be somewhere in this thread, but according to the HO Facebook page, here is how they are handling gift cards and layaways:

Please be aware that all open gift cards must be redeemed by January 15, 2014. Please call the store for an appointment in order to do so. Gift cards are non refundable and must be redeemed in merchandise.

All layaways must be picked up no later than January 15, 2014 or forfeited. Please call the store at (405) 340-7530 for an appointment. Deposits on layaways are non refundable.

I've called multiple times on multiple days and no one answers.

The first time a recording picked up saying they were closed and such and such were store hours.

The other times it rang several times then said "the wireless customer you are calling is not available, please try again later"

ETA: I just called again and got the recording saying store hours are such and such (including Sundays from 1pm to 6pm... it's 4pm right now)

I just sent an email to the owner

At this point, if I had a gift card I would contact whoever purchased it...hopefully they used a credit card and can dispute the charge.

Filing a complaint with the D.A. and the state A.G. might be worthwhile if it's for a substantial amount or if they get enough complaints it could yield results.

Saw an article that says they plan to honor all gift cards and refund memberships in some way. Also said something about a special gift for the people with layaway. But, unfortunately my googlefu is weak and I can't seem to find the article again.

- After nearly four and a half years in business, an Edmond gun range and store has closed up shop.
Barry Bryant is the owner at Heartland Outdoors and says he's disappointed that he has to close his doors.

"We took a risk five years ago," Bryant said. "It didn't work."

Bryant opened Heartland Outdoors in August 2009, hoping to turn his love of the great outdoors into a profitable business. That never happened.

"In the history of Heartland Outdoors, we've yet to make any profit," said Bryant.

It's a disappointing reality that has forced him to close for good and he did on Dec. 31. Bryant says the low markup on merchandise and competition with other retail stores and more on the way sealed his company's fate.

"People have been good to us. We tried. We took a risk. We didn't make it," Bryant said. "But it's not the people's fault."

Which is why he and store manager Steve Wingo said they will make good with all their customers.

"Our customers have been great," said Wingo. "It's no fault of theirs. They've supported us and we want to make sure we go out in the right way."

Which means all gift cards and special orders will be honored and all range memberships will be prorated and reimbursed. And for those customers with outstanding layaways, Bryant has a special surprise.

"When they come in, we're going to waive what they owe on that layaway and let them take it with them," Bryant said.

Bryant said customers have until Jan. 15 to redeem their gift cards or pick up any layaways. But you have to make an appointment by calling Heartland Outdoors at (405) 340-7530 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Everything inside the store will go to auction on January 24 and 25 at Dakil Auctioneers located at 200 NW 114th St. in Oklahoma City.
