You're wrong. Obama believes in a country where entitlements are the norm and robbing from the earners to give to the leeches is ideal. Romney believes in a system built on economic freedom.

Big picture wise they are the same. Romney would have kept spending money we dont have. The govt. would grow like it has been for so long now.

I don't like any politicians... but they are not all 100% the same.

This pervasive notion that Romney would have been no better is not only short-sided, but its one of the reasons WHY we have the fool that we have in charge now.

The main reason though is because a large amount of the American public is ill informed and.....well....not lazy but...ummm....errr.. dependent.

The lie that "Romney is the same or worse" than O$ama is indeed the reason we have an unfettered second term Obamination. It is a lie that even some otherwise intelligent people have been tricked into believing. Sadly, we will never know.

Maybe its just me but I think history proves this is Notion is NOT short sided.
Both sides have brought us to this point. Status quo policies by both sides have brought us to the brink. Sure, Our current prez and administration has put his foot on the accelerator. Anyone else would just have put it back on cruise control and a longer path to the inevitable. It's only when people accept this notion that things will get changed.

The main reason we have him back for a second term is due to the uninformed, gullible and entitled culture that has shifted to the left. Things will only change with a wholesale reboot of our political structure. And that's gonna be tough if we keep putting establishment people like these back in office. Each side has their golden sacred cows and each side is perversed on power and keeping said power. Doing whats good for the country? Not so much.

There's a few good people in national office right now but they fight an uphill battle.
We live in a great country and we are fortunate to all live in and see the best part of it. I think we're the last stand and I think we'll make a comeback.

OH.. how could I forget about all the new information we're finding out about Obama care too...

We had two choices at the end of the day. I can't really blame anyone here in Oklahoma, but the decision to protest vote and/or pretend Romney is the same as Obama are just completely nonsensical.

No offense man, but so far you've started an entire thread on this subject and presented absolutely nothing other than Ad Hominem against Obama as proof that Romney is somehow better. Are we screwed now? Absolutely. Does that prove we wouldn't be screwed with Romney? No.

If the only difference is "At least he's not..." then there is no difference. If it's "Romney at least has character" then we might as well be talking about how we know Hollywood stars are good people - because we know absolutely nothing about Romney other than what his political career (or public view of his business career) tells us.

Obama actually has more political experience (state congress) than Romney and a ton of folks completely ignore Romney's failed run at being a Senator in '94 and the platform he ran on (here's a hint - it was not at all Republican in nature).

Here are all his recorded positions throughout his career - they have changed (especially when you look at what he promised in his 1994 senate campaign) drastically over the years:

So tell us - what would Romney have done differently?

You're wrong. Obama believes in a country where entitlements are the norm and robbing from the earners to give to the leeches is ideal. Romney believes in a system built on economic freedom.

Guess again - Romney believes in a system built on economic freedom (read - without help from the government) for everyone else, but government entitlements for him (via corporate entitlements - i.e. Bain Capital).

Here are some things that show how similar they are:

Here are 40 points that prove they are the same:

http://endoftheamericandream.com/ar...ck-obama-and-mitt-romney-are-exactly-the-same

1. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported TARP.

2. Mitt Romney supported Barack Obama’s “economic stimulus” packages.

3. Mitt Romney says that Barack Obama’s bailout of the auto industry was actually his idea.

4. Neither candidate supports immediately balancing the federal budget.

5. They both believe in big government and they both have a track record of being big spenders while in office.

6. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both fully support the Federal Reserve.

7. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are both on record as saying that the president should not question the “independence” of the Federal Reserve.

8. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both said that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke did a good job during the last financial crisis.

9. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both felt that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke deserved to be renominated to a second term.

10. Both candidates oppose a full audit of the Federal Reserve.

11. Both candidates are on record as saying that U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has done a good job.

12. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both been big promoters of universal health care.

13. Mitt Romney was the one who developed the plan that Obamacare was later based upon.

14. Wall Street absolutely showers both candidates with campaign contributions.

15. Neither candidate wants to eliminate the income tax or the IRS.

16. Both candidates want to keep personal income tax rates at the exact same levels for the vast majority of Americans.

17. Both candidates are “open” to the idea of imposing a Value Added Tax on the American people.

18. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the TSA is doing a great job.

26. They both accuse each other of shipping jobs out of the country and both of them are right.

32. Both candidates have a very long record of supporting strict gun control measures.

33. Both candidates have been pro-abortion most of their careers. Mitt Romney’s “conversion” to the pro-life cause has been questioned by many. 40. Both candidates plan to continue running up more government debt even though the U.S. government is already 16 trillion dollars in debt.

Here's a Forbes Article (right-leaning) on how both are for the same bad policies:

Here's an NPR article (left-leaning) on how they might in fact, be the same person:

Here they are answering identical questions with identical answers:
