Wow this guy is highly intelligent.

Kids born after 2010 "alpha gen" are completely digital, my son is 09 born and tail end of gen z.

Their main means of communication isn't text, it isnt Facebook, it is snapchat, you ever see how that works?

48hrs and the info is no longer seen, it encourages that mindset of immediate attention.

Slowly the wife and I have been getting his friends to go with us to the range, we first show them how they work, what it does and how it does it.

Explain each part, and we ensure they can reassemble it before we even take them to the range, we also test them for proper safety.

Kids in my experience assume a gun is an item of free will, they start each time thinking it is call of duty like, where they can just let it rip and keep on target.

Ever seen a 13yo with a vector? How about a black rain ar10? Oh they ain't ready for that recoil impulse.

The noise either. Lol

I let them choose what they want first as well, and the vector is the way it is "painted" for a reason.

The adults in those pics, never fired a weapon, never even held a weapon. This alone is what firearm ownership is about!

Find someone, a neighbor, someone in the PTA, church group, just anyone. Share knowledge and share your weapon, pay for the ammo even.

Your children depend on it people.

Good for y’all, @Adhdferret . We try to do similar but not as intensive, more fun. But man, that poor kid sure is balding early. 😝
Lol, that was a dad who was very very introvert that was at a gathering in Dallas I attended and conversation just kinda came up among the rest of us and he said....oh I am somewhat of an expert on multiple firearms platforms.

I said really?

2hrs later you see how he was handling the steel.

The time we spend before we take them shooting is just so they know it isn't magic, just springs and metal.

Wow, that's some grip he has there.
Yeah, thing about it was that man never fired a gun before, he read books, watched movies and blah blah.

Key to get them interested is to not point at flaws like this, you let them fire it and work from there...so long as they don't injure themselves.
