Well, they never have to worry about calling the name "shi'thead" during roll call in class. Score 1 for Iceland.
Yeah, parents can name their child whatever they want and spell it any way they care to no matter how illiterate it makes them sound, but it doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I don't think it's a terrible idea to have an accepted list of names, or some kind of social board that will tell you if the name is stupid.
I mean we allowed MJ to name his kid blanket... yea F'ing B-L-A-N-K-E-T
Think about trying to be with a girl named blanket.

EDIT: After some research I now have two facts, BLANKET is not the kids real name, it's Prince Michael Jackson II. And that Blanket is a boy, albeit a girly looking boy, a boy all the same.

Why do you need a gun? Why do you need a 50" flat screen? Because it is your right. I don;t care ridiculous a name is, the .gov has NO BUSINESS telling people what to name their kid.

So you think people have a right to saddle their kids with a ridiculous name. That's messed up.
Several European countries have allowable name lists. I know France (as mentioned previously) does as well.
