I stopped by a local gun shop today, and the guy behind the counter and were alking about upcoming gun shows.

He mentioned that if Obama's Executive Order calling for universal background checks came through, it would render all private firearms transactions illegal. In other words, every gun sold would have to go through a dealer.

Then, as an aside, he added, "Of course, that's how it should be."

I was stunned, and expressed my vehement disagreement.

I think I am not sure I want to do business there any more.

Either you're with the gun owners or against the gun owners. But don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I think that people who are VENDORS at a gun show should all be FFL's if they are selling guns...I should still be able to sell a gun to my uncle Charlie or to a person on this board though whout out being an FFL or having to go to an FFL to do the deed...I think the compromise would be to make gun shows only allow FFL's to have a gun table AND the ATF come up with a standardized form that you fill out as a fire arms bill of sale when you do a private transaction...NO IT IS NOT SUBMITTED TO THEM...but just as an extra "feel good step" which 80% of us on this board probably already do if selling to a stranger because it covers your ass; then you file the form and keep it for a min of 10yrs or something. Except, right now, there is no standardized fire arms bill of sale so it might be nice to come up with one to make the non-gun people see the gun community is reasonable but not willing to accept infringement. Any rational man could see my solution gives the other side something to feel good about without taking our rights away???

I think everyone that sells a firearm should have to give me 1 dollars. Yes I want 1 dollars for every gun sold in the US. So send that money to me. I do take paypal but only as a gift. [email protected]

Hey Rooster,
Charge 2 dollar for every gun sold, split it with me. That way you get a tax break through some kind of a loop hole. Just want to help out.

No. No. No. I am not a government agency and am not going to get into the records storage business, it's simple you hand me cash i hand you whatever you decided to buy from me.. I don't give receipts, or put my informstion on a receipt for anyone else, and I don't go to an ffl. I am a private citizen selling or purchasing or selling a piece of equipment from/to another private citizen. If visibly seeing my DL as proof that I am a state resident and my word that there is no reason you cannot sell to me is not enough for you then go pound sand because I will not go deal with an FFL to buy from an individual. Nor am I going to voluntarily give up anymore freedom to have another government regulation hung round my neck.
