It would appear that he is selling out our rights in order to bolster his own financial picture. Where I come from, that's called being a selfish *******.
Are you sure?
Maybe he's genuinely concerned for the welfare of......meh.....nevermind..........
:uhh:

Howdy. We don't know each other, and I am new to the board.
I am not much of a one for pussyfooting around, but I am not sure if this guy was just an employee or if he is an owner. Before I potentially damage a business's reputation by name, I thought I should wait and find out.
Yep...and you don't wanna' get banned for life from the property....like me!
lol
But yeah, you should be sure...good call.
Of course AFTER we know you felt it out, know who you're dealing with, know the deal for sure, etc., then we'll not tolerate any above said "pussyfooting around".
Umm....unless you still need them in an emergency...on a Sunday...for that one critical piece for your reloading press........then you definitely don't wanna' get banned like me.
It really all depends how deep your principles run.
Mine? I've stood behind mine for about...what....5 years now, and I'm still banned.
:rollingla

What a sell out, but people will do and say anything for the almighty dollar.
Oh come on....maybe he's just tired of non-caucasion people having the audacity to attempt to purchase firearms.(like some places)
:saywhat:

"...shall not be infringed, unless you look a certain way."
Slippery slope. We all have the right to sell, or not sell, to anyone. However, we shouldn't be calling for more gun laws just because someone doesn't fit the description of the masses, or norm.

Maybe.
But maybe it's "shall not be infringed, unless you are a violent felon or closet sociopath"...ya' know, and if they do not fit the description of "normal", they could be a sociopath just waiting to bust loose.
I tell ya'....the medical access and psychological issue is most definitely a slippery slope.....and quite honestly a tough issue to tackle.
I noticed Obama's executive order of something like...."allowing the CDC to obtain...blah,blah,blah..."
I don't know about everyone else but I don't feel as if the CDC has any business whatsoever involved in firearms or firearms related crimes.
Guns are not a disease, anti gunners are. :thumb:

Yes but at the same time, several folks here could be doing a lot more to prevent the type of stuff that "the gunshow loophole" is being blamed for. For a message board full of folks who shout about personal responsibility, a lot of folks don't seem to have an issue selling to anyone at all who has cash in hand, even if that person is a criminal - so long as you don't know about it. And how could you if you don't take any steps to check in the first place?

There are plenty of available tools out there that can be used to prevent selling to a criminal in FTF transactions OSCN.net and an ID check take about 5 minutes or less and the majority of folks out there have smart phones with internet access. That step alone is enough to cull a lot of the shady deals out there. It's not 100% by any means, but it's effort to prevent a sale to a criminal.

Not that I have really sold/traded that many things here but most of those were to someone who willingly showed me their OK Carry Permit. I have voluntarily done the same when buying here or at shows.

I can honestly think of three that didn’t. Of them one was a local Police Officer, one worked as a civilian contractor on a local base who did prove via DL he was an Okie, and one worked for my former employer who would know if you’ve ever been ticketed for jaywalking.

Due diligence is not that hard to do folks!

Just a thought....

With private sales you don't know where that gun is going to end up and if it is going to be used in a crime. If the police show up on your doorstep and you don't have any paper work...good luck. Of course if the pistol was from an estate sale or handed down and the original owner is dead you probably don't have anything to worry about :). Although, having an FFL, I usually recommend that a person who wants to sell a gun come in and let me register it in my books and run the 4473 on the buyer...no fuss and legal documentation to "CYA!!!"

Barry

PS:
Most FFLs on OSA only charge $10...small price for piece of mind.

If the police show up on your doorstep tell them the truth. It was sold at a show. End of conversation. Seriously folks, we have to stop being afraid of our own shadows.

i have no liability for what someone else does with a gun. So what if i sold it to them? it's not my business. Individuals are responsible for their own actions.
