More likely it was the nicest thing he could say that wouldn't get him banned. And frankly, i agree with him.

The original post is ridiculous and while i have no problem with anyone arguing the merits of our system, basing one's position on something written in an email chain is stupid and detracts from the whole debate. If the post was about something like gun control then we'd have people here ripping it to shreds (and rightfully so), but because it's about the 'evil' illegals it seems to get a pass with some members.

Others have already pointed out at least a couple large problems with the 'story' and the best that anyone has come back with is the tired and lame 'liberal' retort.

I am far from Liberal tran...and I frequently disagree with JB. I just hate these idiotic chain email/blog/essay/whatever the hell they are called. They are almost always wrong and just make it impossible to have an actual conversation about the problem or issues at hand. As evidenced by this thread.

Someone who is too lazy to do their own research in regards to the facts of an issue that is important to them just reads some drivel and starts forwarding it around electronically saying "hell's yeah!". I've been guilty of it myself in the past. We are, or can be, better and smarter than that.

Care about an issue? Do some research and formulate your own reasoned argument for or against it.

I agree. Few, including JB, would say that there isn't a problem with our system. The solution is the thing we see the most disagreement about and the original post only serves to muddy the waters of the discussion by introducing nonsense and untruths into the discussion.

JB, I am probably older than you are… I bet if you didn't make a living off of the system your ideas would change. When you got to watch your tax dollars go down the drain and the debt on our kids get larger by the second. It makes me sick. Instead you are able to profit off of putting people on the system when they broke the law by being here illegally so the rest of us can support them. Go down to your local hospital and ask the question of how many get free health care that the tax payers pay for. And you wonder why it cost so much to go to the ER. They use it as a doctor’s office and they have no intention of paying the bill.
