Guys I have a gas can, or two, sunglasses and a straw hat very similar to this one that I bought years ago.

It's gonna be hard to reach any consensus on make & model, but my vote goes to a non big box mower. There's a reason they sell them for what they do. YOMV

If you find a dealer that offers free delivery that's great, if not I've got a trailer and I'll be glad to haul it if I'm still here.

The matching funds thing is a big deal. That's $1480 in short order.

A mower dealer won't have anything in our price range.
Look, you went from blowing past a used one to a newer one and now want to get it from a dealer?
I dont think that can happen but if you show me I'm wrong, I'll listen. A box store mower isn't trash and way better than a used one.
I'd by from HD if all I had was 2 grand, he isn't mowing 2 acres so that should last him a good many years.
