WOW!! Might have to 'raise that bar' again Clay if 'snail-mail' donations keep rolling-in like they seem to be. I don't know, maybe bigger engine, wider deck, better quality, extended warranty, some accessories? Or may just a bigger 'safety-net' for Rick. Whatcha think?

Maybe some other tools? Battery blower or hedge trimmer? Gas can full of gas? Extra set of blades?
I said it before but I’ll mention it again since we are getting so many pages and the donations seem to be really stacking up. Rick mentioned who would like at bagger but wasn’t a must have. I believe Lowes sells the bagger for that Craftsman mentioned at just a tick under $400.

You guys are talking about spending to much as it is. The bagger is not a needed expense. The wife likes it bagged, I do not care. I just mow more often so that it does not get to tall. Thanks for the thought.

A mower dealer won't have anything in our price range.
Look, you went from blowing past a used one to a newer one and now want to get it from a dealer?
I dont think that can happen but if you show me I'm wrong, I'll listen. A box store mower isn't trash and way better than a used one.
I'd by from HD if all I had was 2 grand, he isn't mowing 2 acres so that should last him a good many years.
So now that edits have taken place and posts have been deleted, I guess it appears this comment was directed at me although before the edits and deleted posts CHenry clarified it wasn’t. This is like some political argument where context is thrown out the window. I’m not really directing this rant at you CHenry it more just me venting about deletions changing the appearance of the conversation that was being had.

Guys the big gate is a double, the small gate is narrow but I also have a couple places a small mower is best. Plus the small rear engine are easier to get off and on for the wife and I.

Since you crazy people seemed determined to do this, any of you that want it can have our John Deere JS48 self propelled walk behind. Needs the carb cleaned but other than that works good. Electric start, bagger and I think I have another old carb for it that goes with it. The side discharge chute is around too if you prefer that. If you do not want to clean the carb, you can get them cheap off Ebay.
we might like you !!

I’m late to the party but just a suggestion. Instead of buying a mower, what would be the thoughts about funding lawn care for Rick. It’s fricking hot out and not being mean to Rick but his health isn’t too great. I know we could get the whole thing mowed and trimmed weekly for no more than $50 per week. I know someone as I’m sure others do to that would do it. Just a thought.
