Picked up this old WC Protector off Gunbroker back in January with a vision. It had faded night sights and a worn out black finish. I added Wilson's new ultimate speed sight with yellow tritium and a front snag free sight with green tritium, a Nighthawk Custom T3 mainspring housing/magwell combo and a low profile steel base pad for the Wilson mag. Sent it all off to Robar for a fresh coat of NP3 and got back just in time to try on a new pair of custom Amboyna Burl grips by Hakan Pek. I think it turned out pretty awesome!

Tumbler- what wood is that and who made them? Beautiful gun by the way!

The wood is burl. The maker is Hakan Pek (according to his original post).

Looks great man. How much did those grips set you back!?

Picked up my Ruger SR1911 out of layaway from Tommy at Sooner State Pawn a few weeks ago, via BANG as the FFL. It looks like I got a 2011 model (sweet!!!) as the gun was test-fired by Ruger on 12/29/2011. Nice.

Received a set of RAASCO grips in the mail yesterday. Much rougher texture than the Ruger stocks.
