Can a misdemeanor conviction cause a loss of gun rights

This really isn't a YES/NO answer! Depends on the type of conviction. A speeding ticket is a misdemeanor conviction, and no, you can't lose your gun rights over that. But assault can be a misdemeanor conviction as well. You can at the very least, lose your right to carry concealed in Oklahoma over that. Don't recall any specific misdemeanor conviction that will completely remove your right to own a firearm. Only felony.

Unfortunately, yes. Google "Lautenberg Amendment". It back doored a LOT of people who had previously plead guilty or no contest to domestic violence charges that were misdemeanors. A lot of law enforcement and military members lost their careers over it.

You let the cat out of the bag a bit early.

Sorry, thought it was a question rather than a quiz. :(

I didn't see a "quiz" option, I was hoping for an "informational poll". I thought there would be more interest.
It should also be made known that a restraining or protective order can be issued against you in an "ex parte" hearing,(without you there) just because someone says they fear you and your guns can be taken until a full hearing occurs. And some "heated arguments" and yelling is now considered "abuse" by some.
