This too has been my experience, but I don't get out much so I really only know one.

He happened to be the worthless azzmuch that my ex cheated on me with (the FIRST time (that I KNOW of)). He really wasn't that smart either and had the social skills of 3 year old with a poopy diaper.

You're telling me these people get laid? Now they'll never be motivated to become less annoying.

Oh trust me, with her it evidently wasn't much of a challenge (or satisfying for that matter). If all the nerds want to line up in the batter's box, I'm sure she'll let them have a go at however many runs they can score.

This dude was such a power-geek that he claimed to have actually invented time travel in the future and was just back here chilling out cuz he liked the music. I think he and her clicked on some weird mutual form of crazy level. Kinda like the Wonder Twins of the Psycho League.

Thx. I try.

I WISH, but I had the kiddos last night and no matter how bad I wanted to see the show, I couldn't give that up.

Oh totally. It was pretty good, except people wouldn't shut up at a singer-songwriter show. It's not a punk show, we came to hear lyrics. Some girl next to me freaked out on a drunk bumpkin who had his back to the stage talking at his friends all night. " YOU KNOW THERE IS A PERFORMER ON STAGE RIGHT?" She was a hero. I turned my date into a big fan of Todd Snider and not a big fan of me, so you're welcome Todd. He's funnier than me anyways.

HA! Ya I hear you. Last Lyle Lovett show I went to, some toked out goon rushed the aisle on the closing song and was practically headbanging to string instruments? :anyone:

I'm convinced that somehow people live in an alternate universe where they get free tickets just to hang out and annoy the ones that are really there for the show.

I've never really took time to listen to too much of Todd Snider... I'll have to check out more. Dig the Statistician Blues though. :)

I don't know what you believe but I do know there's no doubt
I need another double shot of something 90 proof
I got too much to think about

If this guy had grey hair, he was at James McMurtry the other night.

Dude's funny. "I'm gonna share some of my opinions with you guys tonight. Not because I want to influence you or because I think I know best, but because I only know like 3 or 4 chords and I gotta say somethin' over 'em."

I was talkin to my girlfriend
I told her I was stressed
I said I'm going off the deep end
She said 'god for once give it a rest'

I joined once on a whim. I was a member for 2 years and never went to a meeting.

Academia is already a bunch of social retards patting themselves on the back about how smart they are. I don't need any more of that.

Every Mensa member (or self-proclaimed Mensa member) I've ever met has been a total jerk. That's my experience. I had an unlikable AP Algebra teacher in school that was a Mensa member and spoke about it quite often in class. She was a dried up old hag teaching pubescent rednecks. Glad she made it to the top.

"Gifted" programs for kids are such a load of crap, too. I was thrust into them immediately and hated every moment. I eventually stopped going because the kids were awful - exact copies of me only missing the anxiety and self-loathing that makes me tolerable as a human being. My parents were called in and it was a big scene and I basically told my mom I'd rather be in class with my friends who rode skateboards and burned stuff. Gifted programs in schools are the best example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect or more accurately the Downing Effect.

Being proud of being intelligent is as stupid as Nationalism or pride in some other meaningless BS you had no control over. Ted Kaczynski had an IQ of 167 and was ******* neo-luddite living alone in his own filth making bombs. Ayn Rand was very intelligent and she had the world view of a 13-year-old and wrote books worse than Dave Barry's Guide to Life. #wordisbond

I guess I'll let my MENSA membership expire at the end of year now.
