I have people that keep telling me I should get an IQ test done. I think the whole thing is stupid I don't need a measuring stick I'm not as smart as they think I just have to work really hard at it.

Had the same experience as Ridge with the "gifted" program. Lasted one year, and bailed out. Told my mom I couldn't stand to be lumped in with the kids of school administrators, etc. - just didn't fit in at all. My personality was a square peg in a round hole with that bunch. They liked to act holier-than-thou and pat each other on the back, I liked to ride skateboards and listen to KISS.

My sister in law used to always talk about getting into MENSA; I think she's just trying to prove that she's not an idiot.

Oh - and Veggie? You should have gone to law school.

"Gifted" programs for kids are such a load of crap, too. I was thrust into them immediately and hated every moment. I eventually stopped going because the kids were awful - exact copies of me only missing the anxiety and self-loathing that makes me tolerable as a human being. My parents were called in and it was a big scene and I basically told my mom I'd rather be in class with my friends who rode skateboards and burned stuff.

It took a lot to boot GTG's Gay and Lesbian lyrical prose from my signature line, but you sir... have done it.
