Thanks for all the compliments! kydex is fairly easy to work with, i heated it up in the oven at about 350 for 5 minutes, then promptly laid it over my gun then covered with 3 layers of that blue foam sleeping bag roll padding, then a sheet of plywood and stood on it for about 5 minutes til it cooled. Then I used an el cheapo heat gun from harbor freight on low to fine tune the edges. I got the supplies from knifekits.com and got the leather from tandy's.

The idea with this one was that I wanted to be able to change the kydex position if need be with the screws, to find a good spot/angle, but it just happened to be good on the first try :D. If I do it again (read "when I eventually get a 1911"), there's several things I would do different, namely higher quality leather, rivets, and possibly a vacu-form table instead of a foam press (something I've wanted for a while that would also come in handy for cosplay at nerd conventions :P).

The kydex is .08
