nordic naturals Ultimate Omega 4 per day in divided doses, or Carlson' Elite 2-3 per day...then some Blue Bonnet Magnesium Glycinate 200mg 1-2 per day, can help blood pressure and cholesterol if it is not too high...But before I got on statins, I'd consider some Red Yeast Rice and 100mg of COQ10...that is a better choice than a statin. Prescription drugs should never be your 1st option. The most important thing is the ratio of HDL to LDL...that matters more than the total number.

Also, if your homocystine blood levels and CRP levels are in range, then I'd be less concerned about total cholesterol numbers because cholesterol is good for your brain and hormones and it only seems to clog arteries when you inflammation levels are up and it oxidizes in your arteries. Eating fruits & veggies with lots of anti-oxidants can help to offset the oxidation of blood fats. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH

I said my carbohydrate intake was too high, guess what my wife is on a low carb diet. She can have what she wants at breakfast and lunch but supper time is low carb for all.

..so now I'm on a low cholesterol diet.

Go figure.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that maybe she needs you to help her stick with this at first. It's really hard to try to stick some kind of healthy diet when your partner wants to eat at WhatABurger every night ... (GC ... Yeah, I'm talking about YOU! :D) Help her out a little. I'd bet you a dollar and a cookie that if you play your cards right, you'll be rewarded in spades ... :wink2:
