He was completely FOS... never accepted my multiple invites to the range to make the shot.

Oh...and it turns out he didn't get "blown up" during a training exercise and medically discharged. He was "section 14" aka "other than honorable" discharge. Never paid me the $200 either...

So I ran into an old highschool buddy (that is apparently well knowledgeable on ALL things firearm related). We start talking "M16's" (which somehow branched off of the fact that he was unsure of what I meant by ar15) and he has several ..... Supposedly. Somehow we get on the topic of EOTech, in which we were talking prices and he informs me that my "connections" must be bad. That any model EOTech could be had for <$300 and the magnifier being only another $120. I inform him he must be purchasing Chinese knock-offs, then he goes into a rant of personally field testing EOTechs in Afghanistan personally and that he has the hookup. Oh and they even send him a free lifetime warranty.....

FYI, he recommends ACOG's so you don't have to purchase an additional magnifier.

Your buddy is full of s... crap. My son-in-law's twin brother works for L3 and works on the Eotechs and even they can't get any kind of a "hook-up" or discount. I know, I've already tried.

Chapter 14 is a fairly versatile tool for Commanders to unload dirtbags from the Army-
(Copied text) Members can be discharged for misconduct on the basis of:
-Minor disciplinary infractions
-Patterns of misconduct,
-Commission of a serious offense (including drug use), and
civilian convictions

And when "Less than honorable discharge" is used in context with "Chap 14", it paints a fairly accurate picture of an individual at the time of the events that resulted in the discharge. It's one of the more common "Chapters" (Chapters from the UCMJ used to support the action) used.
