The majority apparently do consent to it, since they have not voted to leave the United Kingdom. That still doesn't make it any of our business.I suppose it could be said that the British government is minding what it has declared to be its business. Since many Northern Irishmen don't consent and never have consented to it, I wouldn't say it is their business to govern every one of those people's lives.
Yup--when my ancestors (which include Irish, Ulster Scots, and Brits) ceased talking about returning to the Old Sod and set their roots in the US, they relieved me of any responsibility for who does what on the Emerald Isle. We have lots of our own business that needs minding, and we're not doing a particularly good job of it.I'm of Irish descent and not a fan of the british ( Hugh Grant) but the Irish are big boys if they want the brits gone then they need to get rid of them.
