You think the IRA should go back to killing innocent civilians and ruining the lives of thousands of people with their misguided terrorism? You sir = FAIL.

By that logic we shouldn't attack anyone as a retaliation because innocent people die. Innocent people die in every war. I had a funny feeling that the general populous of this country had been tricked into thinking the IRA was a terrorist group. The IRA is no more of a terrorist group then any other freedom fighter group forefathers included. These people have been screwed with their whole lives by a group of outsiders trying to push their agenda on them. Sound familiar? And people wonder why the US is hated worldwide.

Lol. Oh my... I don't even know how to respond so I won't even bother. That is without a doubt the most uneducated, uninformed response I have ever read.

If you want to read a great book on the early operations of the IRA, as well as the story of one of the greatest heroes of Irish independence, you should read The Squad: and the Intelligence Operations of Michael Collins, by T. Ryle Dwyer. Basically what the intelligence division of the IRA, led by Michael Collins, would do was to target for assassination the detectives of the Royal Irish Constabulary and Dublin Metropolitan Police, who were loyal to the Crown. This eliminated the eyes and ears of the British in Ireland, and caused them to strike out blindly, committing many attrocities that drove more of the Irish population into the arms of the revolutionaries. They also broke out a lot of prisoners and engaged in some cloak-and-dagger affairs with British MI6 secret agents. Most of their killings went down in a public setting with several guys with concealed handguns at close range, who would then high tail it, sometimes on bikes, and would blend back into the population. Sometimes they would break into houses and kill the targets in their own beds, in front of their families. It contains lots of first-hand accounts from the actual IRA gunmen who were part of Collins' Squad. It is a great study on the dynamics of a resistance movement in a more or less modern urban society... especially the ugly, down-and-dirty side of things.

The Queen has a unique relationship with Canada, entirely separate from her role as Queen of the United Kingdom or any of her other realms.

As in all her realms, The Queen of Canada is a constitutional monarch, acting entirely on the advice of Canadian Government ministers. She is fully briefed by means of regular communications from her ministers, and has face-to-face audiences with them where possible.

The Queen personifies the state and is the personal symbol of allegiance, unity and authority for all Canadians. Legislators, ministers, public services and members of the military and police all swear allegiance to The Queen. Elections are called and laws are promulgated in The Queen's name.

The Queen is represented in Canada on a day-to-day basis by a Governor-General. He or she is appointed by The Queen on the advice of the ministers of Canada and is completely independent of the British Government.

That's from the monarchy today website, so since they swear allegiance they are subjects of the crown?

Canadians may be subjects of the Crown, but they are only part of the Commonwealth, not the United Kingdom. Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom, which still means that the Limey bastards are minding their business...
