why is this? your insurance change?

The price went up because of the agreement inside Obamacare that states that Insurance companies cannot price-hike after XYZ date (I want to say it sometime in 2014, I don't remember off-hand).

If someone told you that and then left a huge gaping opportunity for you to price-hike before that point in time, what would you do (especially if you were the same insurance companies hiking prices and illegally not covering customers while lobbying for bills that crush your competition)?

From what I heard in the news was that Harry Reid put that in the bammycare bill to keepnthe NRA of his back during his reelection in 2010. They then interview his spokesman about this recently and they said that his beliefs in gun control have evolved since then. Mother%^#*¥#% hypocrite!!! Anything to get elected.

I just got a letter from BCBS stating that they will not be covering any pre-existing conditions for 11 more months, so I'm basically paying them for accident coverage until 2014. I know some of you will argue that fact, but it's true in my case. And it's not like you have any choice but to pay it from now on.

If you thought obamacare was good idea I'd laugh at that. EVERYTHING is going to go up and the service you will receive will go down as well. It will evolve into something where a panel of non medical professionals will be deciding whether or not you receive another round of chemo after your cancer has metastasized. Nothing about this bill was good, now your medical records will be available to almost anyone. They're already starting to centralize electronic charts. Started that last year....

That's essentially the problem. Massive Healthcare companies (mainly drug and insurance companies) have been allowed to act almost like a mafia in crushing their smaller privately-owned competitors via regulations, lobbying to change things like patent-laws, purposely not covering things they used to be required by law to cover, and generally being giant douche-bags for too long.

The people are sick of it and a few minor changes in government regulation (i.e. taking away their unfair advantage that they basically obtained by way of regulation) would have calmed things down and a healthcare bill should have done just that (if you remember, that's the only things you heard Obama and before that Romney talk about - how this was basically going to regulate the evil health-care companies).

The problem is that Romney Care and Obama Care both do the opposite - they basically allow health-care companies to go buck-wild for a few years before handing the largest government contract in history over to the very folks they bashed when pushing the bill.

I'm not even necessarily against government-regulated/provided health-care (it's no different to me than Social Security or Highways so long as it's not abused), but this is an absolute travesty of a bill that is going to wreck our country and make a few corporations (illegally) very wealthy at the same time.

This, to me, is the laughable part. I move around a lot and the VA can't even manage to share my records between the different hospitals/clinics.

Thats because the va still uses charts and people have to sign for them etc etc. Before digital charts the clinics and specialist had a responsibility to your charts. Even years after you're dead. What they're doing now is starting to load the newer digital charts(which arent NEW but like 5-8 years old now) onto servers which will be stored at a central location. Leaving them open for people with proper log ins or those who can hack into it to browse through your medical history.

Are we complaining about government regulations because unregulated insurance companies got you by the balls till the regulations go through? I LOLed.

Quite the opposite. Government regulations are what got the few but powerful insurance companies in power and crushed their competition.
