I’ve learned from many years on FB and hunting message boards that when discussions start talking about “ethics” I bow out, because it’s fixing to be chitshow in short order. However, the one buck proposal SHOULD BE directly related to herd management, and if it’s not, it’s a bullchit idea.
I haven’t seen anyone counting deer over here so just another politician telling me how to live.

No, not really. I've talked to Jeff enough to know he loves deer hunting and wants everyone to enjoy it as well. I used to hunt near his place and we've showed each other pics of the same monster deer on occasion. He tells me good luck.
Go ahead and ask him to put that bill in the shredder, please. Thanks, PB!

Correct! I have 1750 acres and don't allow dinks to be shot. If its not mature, it walks. Its impressive to pull up and see bucks that are fat, healthy, and my dinks are something most guys wouldn't have to think twice about shooting. We work for it to be this way and knowing that the neighbor is in cooperation and has the same mind set is 80% of the battle. There have been years I didn't shoot a buck, only does, because I didn't think they were mature enough to be harvested. This payed off in dividends the years after. I shot 2 over 160" this year and there are 3 more on that same piece of property in that class. One was taken by a poacher (who got caught thank you to the ODWC and the head and cape will be returned to us) but the other two will most likely get a hall pass this year and Ill just take a few does. I love the hunt, love the meat, but I've learned there is no reason for me to shoot an immature deer. Again, having said that, have I done it? Absolutely, many times, but I was educated on how much more fun it is when you have a property full of great deer vs a farm full of average deer.
We also have over a thousand acres and border a property with 10,000+.

Follow the breadcrumb, paper, money trail. Listen to this while you read. Dig it Man!

They just did this.
The new deer licenses for each season are $36 for residents, only $16 more than previous years' licenses that were only valid for one deer each. Of course, deer managers with the Wildlife Department are hoping that hunters will seize the opportunity to harvest more does. (regardless, guaranteed to make mo money)

Now they want to do this.

Did we get supersized hunting privileges or circumcised wallets. It's like they're passing out tags at the corner of Buck Ridge and River View. (Think free phones) it looks like they give you something, just to take something else away. All in a coordinated steps to enrich and weaken. You won't get it back. Welcome to the Grand Illusion. That's another song.

Let's do the math. ($16 X hunters - excluding life timers) We already kill less deer than hunter numbers.
The total number of deer hunters in Oklahoma for all seasons combined (archery, muzzleloader, and gun) is 184,0321. In the 2022-23 deer seasons, hunters reported taking a total of 134,158 deer, which is a new record2. The state has an estimated 750,000 deer, with hunters taking approximately 100,000 each year.

What the Funk !! A Blue technique to make you blue and give you the Blues. Kinda looks like a bait and switch. This catfish ain't bitin' the hook.
