I have not read this whole thread and went to the "horses mouth" if you will. This is ludicrous in the least. OHP or any other LEO should not, NOT have to pay for a SDA permit. Enough said kids I am old and grumpy so please don't get me started.

This was an oversight in the law that will likely be corrected this next legislative session. My opinion. But he could get an SDA license, he is exempt from the background check and the training. Should come back from OSBI in no time.

I don't know about the getting it back in no time, either... It took 80 days to get mine back and I've been CLEET certified and commissioned since 1998...
