I have been prescribed pain pills for three years. Anytime I ran out I just called and it would be refilled. Sometimes it would last a month, sometimes as long as three. Being I'm a light weight I only took half pills at a time. It was just enough to smooth the pain to function on an almost normal basis.

After taking them so long I knew my body would be dependent on them. That was a gimmie. And the first few days without were a little bit of withdrawals but not horrible. Now the change has caused the painful flare ups... And trust me. 4 advil's and 3 tylenol's do nothing but upset ones stomach lol

I like my doc. And I know he was being honest when he told me his hands were tied due to the damn pain pill abuse in Oklahoma and that he couldn't do anything, but refer me to a pain management... Who is so backed up. Weeks and weeks.

I don't understand your complaint. You've been taking pain meds for three years. Are you saying that your doctor, due to something in OK law, is now no longer able to prescribe pain meds? That's your complaint?

What is your condition that necessitated pain meds in the first place?

Nonsence, and your a Doc, you should be ashamed of yourself..... ;(

Pain management is a vital part of recovery and treating many illnesses ,To call people puscys and compare them to theyre Grandparents who suffered Greatly, and died at a relative young age is ...disgusting

Do ya need another drink Doc, or do you not count that as the same..??

Yes , people abuse Things ..Every f"n day..so do you want to start making Laws about those things too?

The .gov needs to get the heck out of our personal lives.....Period

This just disgusts me

Was no weaning. No warning lol. And I have gout. Not the good old OUCH! My big toe hurts gout. Damn I wish it was just in my toes lol. Like right now.. My right wrist has a Velcro brace wrapped around it. Holding a cup of coffee might as well be a kick in the danglers. And bend it? Oh hell no.. Wrists. Ankles. Can be best described as being full of shards of glass. And with luck it won't start up in a knee. That's the worst.

The pill combination over the last few years kept it at bay. Allowed me to move like I did years ago. Back years ago I would be down for months. Unable to walk while it worked from one knee to another.

And for those in maud Oklahoma. Yes I'm bitching because I didn't abuse the drugs. Yet I get to suffer now because of them lol

And yea. I'm sure my grandpappy would still be sacking peanuts with the pain I have now. But he's a tough muther.

Hang in there OkieMoe. My wife sees a pain management doctor. Her abdomen is full of scar tissue from endometriosis, so she had issues with pain almost daily. It's better now that she's seeing a specialist.

Seems odd that a doc would say his hands are tied when it comes to pain management. To the best of my knowledge any doc can prescribe pain meds. Even the ER docs do it regularly.

The other side of this is that pain medication doesn't cause flare-ups or inflammation. The chemical compounds don't work that way. Taking too much of some can cause liver problems (Acetaminophen), and there a few other long term problems that they cause, but I've never heard of one cause flare-ups of any other disease.

You don't mention what the pain meds were for originally. Keep in mind that pain meds don't fix any problems, they just dull the pain. So what else are you taking? Whats the root of the pain?

Example: Arthritis patients often take a steroid for inflammation and a pain med to keep them functioning while it builds up in their system. A muscle relaxer can also be prescribed if needed. It's not uncommon to see Prednisone and Hydrocodone prescribed at the same time.

Because of my own medical issues, which we won't list here, I have been working on a blues song. So far I only have the title: "Well, I Guess I'm Just Screwed." Maybe we can collaborate on some of the lyrics?

When my latest complication manifested, I looked at the sky and said "Is this another test"?

You need to get a second opinion. I know OK is the worst state in the nation in terms of prescription drug abuse, but it sounds like you really need some help.

I was told by a doc a long time ago that I was obese. I told her I wanted a second opinion. She said "Well, you're ugly too."

I know we can't laugh it all away, but sometimes it helps.
