Has anyone tried using those large tumbler type parts cleaners? I have a parts vat and bead blaster but, was wondering if one of those large tumblers like Harbor Freight sells would have any advantages. They sell cleaning media and rust removing media for them. I've never talked to anyone that has used one.

I have not tumbled parts in my homemade wet tumbler but i have heard many people do.
Here is a neat build.

At the cam shop they used to build cylinder heads and used a very large tire to clean heads.
Tire spun slowly and tumbled a head in media and it came out very clean.

I have one that I use to tumble brass. I like it because it has an on/off switch. My lyman tumbler is powered by just plugging it in

I'm guessing everybody on here that reloads has either wet or dry tumblers for cleaning brass cases. I listed this under gearheads and said parts cleaning. I am asking about cleaning car parts and removing rust.

Hot Steam Power Washer is money well spent on parts and equipment cleaning.
