One word of caution to all that shoot springers, NEVER EVER put any petroleum based lube in the compression chamber/cylinder--it will "diesel"(compressing the lube to it's flash/detonation point) when you pull the trigger. The results won't be fun---like owning a Mercedes and having a head-on wreck.

I've sprayed WD40 down the barrell and into the BB tank to keep it from rusting, for Years.
on a daisy red ryder..10,000,000 BB's , guess I got lucky.
Non petro lube from now on... Thanks

I think where TSHTF is with the 800 to 1400FPS+ .177 and .22 pellet guns. You sure as the heck don't want to put any petro based lube in those. I also had an old Red Ryder BB gun and poured a lot of 3in1 oil down it. It literally smoked(white smoke) when I shot it and I don't think it did any damage that I knew of(at that time). But that has been over 40+ years ago so I WILL NOT SAY to do the same thing with modern BB guns.
