I don't see it as gouging. If two consenting adults agree on a price a deal is made.
My bad. Should have used a different politician telling us what we can and can't do/expect! The point I was trying to make is that we DO have a right to buy guns and ammo(no laws against yet). "Cheap" is the issue you are addressing. Every rifle, pistol, shotgun that I have seen in numerous Dept. stores have not increased in price since Sandy Hook. A bushmaster AR-15 is still $699 at Wally (when in stock), same price as it was 12/1. "Fair Market " pricing to me means what mass producers/distributors sell them for. Not what OSA classifieds and Armslist sell them for.
Like you, I won't buy anything that I feel is overpriced. However, I will not ever delude myself into thinking that the "fair market" price is the price that is posted in online classifieds. I will choose to go without and shoot what I have acquired since the 09' run'n'gouge!

I stood patiently in front of the local walmart ammo case for two hours, didn't move, and it paid off in a case of Fed9mm, case of FedAR223, and a case of WWB380... Patience pays off, and I guess it doesn't hurt that I'm handsome
