The ramps were great, until a kid down the road hit one of our ramps, his bike seat was missing, just the seat not the stem. When he hit the ground the side of the ramp, the force of the impact drove his keester down on the seat stem.........................steel enema for sure. He limped home.

I remember Scouting. We had a week long camp at Lake Okmulgee where we worked on merit badges and honed our canoeing skills.

I remember for the fishing merit badge, you had to catch five different kinds of fish, clean one and eat it. I had my stringer down by the shore, when I went to get it, a cotton mouth had eaten one of my fish and was stuck on my stringer. Since I'd already caught four different kinds of fish, the Scout Master let me count the cotton mouth and I got my badge.

When I was an Explorer, we floated the Illinois River in huge intertubes. We missed our landing and ended up floating like 15 miles or so. It was a lot of fun.

Good post...I remember it all...I experienced most of that in the early/mid 80's but I do remember the window unit noise at my grandma's house in the very late 70's and into 1980/81 while I'd be in the living room watching Battle of the Planets or speed racer on TV and drinking Donald Duck canned orange juice and eating vienna sausages for a snack...playing with my Shogun Warrior, godzilla and/or Stretch Armstrong doll.

I bet your nostalgia includes electronics and chat groups.

Nope. I miss riding bikes for hours with about 6 of my friends. I miss going into the sewers and seeing how many miles we could go down. I miss wrestling with my friends on their lawn. I miss playing flashlight tag in the field behind my house at 12 at night in the pitch black with about 20 kids. I miss playing airsoft on my friends roof. I miss taking 3 hours to set up a rocket in the field and it failing to go off. My friend goes to investigate (wearing gas mask of course!) and the rocket go off right in front of him.

Don't forget Strech Monster.

I got all the Kenner Star Wars toys: Death Star, land speeder, Cantina, X-wing, Darth Vader's TIE fighter (with the curved wings), and all the figures.

The fun part wa mixing in other figures; Battlestar Galactica, Micronauts, old west figures, etc.
