Whoever introduced this bill is an idiot who watches too much television. I have friends with pit bulls, family with rottweiler mixes, and have petted my fair share of dogs. None of them have been violent and none of them came across as treatening to me. I could see this being caused by someone's wife getting scared that her little chihuahua might get eaten by anything bigger than it.

I'm speechless. After everything that's happened over the past month or so OP made my mind numb. It's like We The People are getting banged on from so many directions it's hard to know which fight to fight. Maybe I'll move to Montana or Wyoming where there's lots of space and you can see them coming.

If certain breeds become resticted to own, where do those dogs go, what happens to them? Is there really a problem with a whole breed of dog or certain ones? Why dont they go after all the white/black dogs or the short/long dogs.

Here are two different top-10 lists of problem dog breeds. You see depending on what your perception is of "dangerous breeds" the list can be drastically different.

I believe bad dogs stem from bad owners... The whole pit bull discussion is worn out. I've never had a dog, but my buddies pits/rots/mastiffs are extremely sweet dogs. But I'll say this, those same pits and various other big working dogs are a legit threat to life, especially when a careless owner allows constant yard escapes.

Most lists that rate the Pit Bull as #1 are also including all Pit mixes into that stat. So a Pit/Lab mix gets recorded as a Pit Bull instead of a mixed breed. If any of these lists were true they would list "mutt" as #1.

Two Women Injured

ANIMAL CONTROL supervisor Steve Miner wrangles one of two dogs involved in an attack which left two women seriously injured and another dog dead at 4:29 p.m. Sunday. According to victim statements, two dogs escaped from 505 North Twelfth and went into the back yard of resident Sherry Lynn Mabry, 63, who tried to move the dogs back next door. Mabry’s small house dog was attacked by intruding dogs. Mabry, along with neighbor Genie Turner, 86, tried to fend off the dogs and suffered multiple injuries to arms, hands and legs. Ponca City police officers were able to contain the attacking dogs back into their own yard while ambulance crews tended to the injured women. Both women were taken to Ponca City Medical Center, with Turner immediately flown by EagleMed air ambulance to an unknown trauma center for further treatment. Mabry underwent surgery overnight and faces additional skin graft surgery, according to daughter Laura Mabry Whiles. The two dogs will remain under observation for rabies and are subject to being euthanized according to Miner.
