They didn't stand a chance. Their dog was being killed by them, and like any dog owner they responded. The dogs turned on them. The owners will likely never have a life after their poor choice of getting a breed like that. I for one would spend the last dollar I've ever owned to sue them into oblivion if that were my grandma.

BTW my moms neighbors granddaughter was killed by a German Shepard at Lake Ponca A few years back.

Just a toddler carrying a stick.

Misleading title is misleading.

There are several municipalities all across the US that have such-democrat and republican.

Yep. I do not agree with it but with the huge numbers of people that should not be allowed to own pets or other living thing, or even the right to breed I can can kind of see it.

Didn't the Commies have all the pets killed when the people couldn't feed themselves in China after the takeover?

Nope, the people got hungry and ate them. :D

Lawton has some pretty strict dog laws don't they.?

They dont Ban any type of dogs , if thats what your asking.
Most of the animal control is to protect the animals, and theres a leash law.

.
Im talking about all this, were doing it for your own good whether you like it or not, crap.
Whether its dogs, guns , too big of a soda.

My niece was attacked by 2 birddogs and a black lab, good thing one of the neighbors ran them off with a gun.
Owner said they had never done anything like that before.....Really???
He let them run loose all the time.

I agree... Dogs are living, breathing, powerful animals with an independent thought process... They are a literal self aware assault weapon.

If certain breeds become resticted to own, where do those dogs go, what happens to them? Is there really a problem with a whole breed of dog or certain ones? Why dont they go after all the white/black dogs or the short/long dogs.

Here are two different top-10 lists of problem dog breeds. You see depending on what your perception is of "dangerous breeds" the list can be drastically different.

LIST 1
1. Chihuahua
2. Beagle
3. Pekinese
4. Shar Pei
5. Bull Terrier
6. Cocker Spaniel
7. Dalmation
8. Jack Russel Terrier
9. Chow Chow
10. Dachshund

LIST 2

1. Pit Bull Terrier
2. Rottweiler
3. Siberian Husky
4. Saint Bernard
5. German Shepherd
6. Great Dane
7. Doberman Pinscher
8. Chow Chow
9. Alaskan Malamute
10. Akita

I can put 10 random breed names down on a sheet of paper and tell you I have a list... but... Where exactly did you find the first list? What is your source? I am pretty active in the fight against breed specific legislation, & that looks like no list I have ever seen. Now the second one is standard, but the first list is either bogus, or just inflammatory.

I believe bad dogs stem from bad owners... The whole pit bull discussion is worn out. I've never had a dog, but my buddies pits/rots/mastiffs are extremely sweet dogs. But I'll say this, those same pits and various other big working dogs are a legit threat to life, especially when a careless owner allows constant yard escapes.

I have a couple pit bulls, & I agree, they are incredibly fast, ridiculously strong, and can be utterly overwhelming, but mine are two big couch potatoes that just like to cuddle. OTOH, if I am out in the neighborhood and a large pit comes at me in an aggressive, threatening manner, I'll shoot it, I wouldn't take a second to see if its going to stop and roll over for belly scratches. One of the original posters stated that he thought owners should be charged with responsiblity for the actions of the dog, I agree 100%.

Another issue I have with so called "vicious breeds".... why does the person trying to pay for groceries with food stamps, have 7 kids running around the buggy, and a pit bull tied up outside the grocery store!?! That has been chapping my @ss for years, doesn't make a bit of sense, but every time we've had a dog attack in a town I have lived in, that has been the typical culprit. (btw, just to prevent confusion, I am referring only to financial status, nothing else)
