I will still wait until next year to renew my CHL and hope they will get this changed to no permit. It would suck to spend the money on a background check this year only to have CC come along next year. Which, I think it will. At least in the next few years.

Piston10, you should really try to educate yourself because this board will not be a defense if something happens. Just to sum it up for you though. Everything as you know it now will be the same with the following exceptions:

1. You can now carry unconcealed anywhere you were legally carrying concealed.
2. Upon official contact with law enforcement, you have to notify them at first available opportunity instead of first contact.
3. Unlicensed open carry on your property.
4. Ammunition cannot be prohibited by an employer from being left in your vehicle.
5. Allows appellate court judges to carry in court houses.

If the governor signs, this would be effective November 1. Also, it would now longer be a concealed hangun permit, just a hangun permit.
