SB1733 passed the Senate

I called and asked politely to move SB1733 for a vote and was asked for name and address.

I just called Sykes office again and got his assistant. I told them I wanted to voice my unwavering support for SB1733. She asked for my name and address.
I then asked if Sen. Sykes was going to accept the ammendments added by the house. The assistants response was, "I don't know?"

I asked that Sen. Sykes call me and give me a couple of minutes of his time so we could discuss his position. The assistant took my number so we will see if he actually calls me back. Ill let everyone know!

I just got off the phone with his assisant. Pretty much the same experience as you had. I expressed my concern that it would appear that both houses are amending this thing to the point of running out of time and then going to blame the other house. This is really going to chap my behind if they don't get their act together and get a bill to the Governor..

What really sucks about this is that Im not in Sykes district. Most of us aren't. Even though he is in a position of power in regards to this bill...which means A LOT to me...he probably does not give a crap since I'm not in his district.

I think thats why hes asking for addresses. If you are not in his district, he doesnt care if you are pissed at his action later.

If you know anyone in Cleveland,Grady, McClain or Stephens County it would probably help to have them call Senator Sykes office.

I'm right in the middle of Sen. Shultz's District. Sent him and Sen. Sykes e-mails thanking them & their Executive Assistants for all their work toward passage of SB1733... and for their patience with all our numerous phone calls & e-mails... that there were a large number of people very enthusiastic about getting this bill passed as soon as possible.

I'm in Sykes district and he assures me the governor will have a bill to sign this session. We shall see.
