I sent senator Schultz an email yesterday begging him to do whatever he could to get this bill passed for us. I don't know if it will do any good but we shall see.
Sent an email to my Senator, Clark Jolley, asking him to encourage Senator Sykes to accept the House Amendments to SB1733 and to advance the bill. Also thanked him for his previous support of HB2522 which is very similar to SB1733.
Emails sent.
Senate calander for today shows SB1733 listed under the section 'House Amendments'. Don't know just what that means....whether or not any action will be taken... but it is listed.

If it is not on the agenda, it will not be heard today.
What is the difference between the two listings dated today? Is one all the items coming up for future action they intend to get to when they can get to it and the other what they are going to address today or something else?
Just got off the phone from having a real pleasant chat with Senator Shultz's Executive Assistant Pam Nordstrom. She said that until Senator Sykes decided to accept the House's amendments.. that Sen. Shultz's hands are tied. But allowed that Sen. Shultz would bring it up for a floor vote when he gets the bill. So we need to be contacting Sen. Sykes.
Update: 1:30pm.... Just got off the phone from talking with Tanya Lewis in Sen. Sykes office. Apparently he is still looking at the House amendments and deciding on whether or not he will accept them. So whoever posted earlier that he had told them he WOULD accept them was misinformed... as it is not a sure thing at this point. Keep up the pressure!

So we are again down to our system allowing ONE person to make the decision to decide if the rest of the senate can have an opportunity to vote on it or not. What a crock.
