I believe Michael is reffering more to your attitude and the way you handle it might have consequence. If it's the same attitude and behavior you have on the interwebz, he's right.....

IF and I say IF, an officer of any municipality feels I am threat in a car, then yes they should pull me over and verify my right to drive(lisence and Insurance) and that I am in the right state to drive. A person with a gun is considered a threat until I or anyone else can prove otherwise.

Absent any aberrant behaviour or cause, why is someone carrying a holstered pistol, in a state that allows those to carry holstered pistols, a threat?

Your logic is broken. People driving cars aren't automatically pulled over, generally, unless they have exhibited some behaviour. Carrying a gun is no different, after 1 Nov, unless that person is acting like an ass or taking a threatening posture.

All I was saying that Midwest City should use the actual investigative techniques they are taught on the job to determine whether contact should be made with someone open carrying. Simply trying to blanket check EVERYONE you see open carrying is a serious waste of LEO's time and the citizen they stop. It's just a silly policy spouted out without thinking about it. Hell, they've got til NOVEMBER to come up with something better, maybe they will. But coming up with this plan on the back of a matchbook two days after it's signed will only end in the police vs. the citizenry and animosity between the two. Just saying what I was thinking out loud, I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition.....

It's a matter of opinion a guess. Just like everyone behind the wheel of a car in my eyes is a possible threat. Lisence or not, I don't know how you are feeling that day. Maybe your wife left with your dog and your a little on edge. Unless I know you and your intentions, your a threat. Will officers have discernment if it's a guy or gal out with there family(less threatening in my eyes), I would hope so. He is doing his job to protect and if he feels that asking for your ID helps do that job, then let him do it. But don't let him harass you. Beyond seeing that lisence it is none of there business why you are doing what you are doing.
